The pendulum damping test is carried out with the Model 299/300 Pendulum Hardness Tester to determine the damping behaviour of paints, varnishes and similar coatings.

Test principle: the damping of the oscillation of a standard pendulum resting on the test surface is proportional to the softness of the coating.
