The ERICHSEN 334 Spin Coater is a motorised bench-top film applicator consisting of a metal housing, a control panel and a sample table with a collecting tray and protective cover. Speed and run time are infinitely variable from 100 to 2000 min^-1 and from 5 to 300 s, and the selected speed is shown on the display. The sample table and collecting tray are easy to remove and clean. Films form quickly, saving time and raising efficiency.

For safety, the coater switches off automatically at the end of the preset time so the sample can be taken off the table, and the cover cannot be opened until the sample has stopped spinning completely.

Applications

The ERICHSEN 334 applies uniform coatings to samples 80–200 mm across with high precision and good reproducibility. It is designed for applications that demand very consistent coating thickness or very thin films.

Test principle

The ERICHSEN 334 uses the strong centrifugal force of a high-speed rotor to spread even fairly viscous liquid coatings evenly. Following the table below, place 5–10 g of sample to produce a coating of the intended thickness; excess coating is flung to the edge and runs into the surrounding tray.
